A post from my parenting blog!

The Big Picture

I had another post planned today but in light of the news I just received, it felt wrong. The news gave me perspective of my own challenges and I wanted to share it with all of you.

My friend, Stephen Watkins, just received news that his case for the return of his children has been dismissed by The Polish Appeal Court. His sons were abducted by their non-custodial mother March 6, 2009 and taken by way of the United States  to Poland. After an exhaustive search, Stephen finally found his sons, only to be told they had been living too long in Poland to be returned.

I can’t even image not knowing where my son was, not being with him, not knowing him. For more information and to support Stephen Watkins continuing fight please visit: https://www.facebook.com/Watkins.Missing.Children

Great Blue Heron on the shore of Echo Lake, BC

Splash down during mating season at my favourite park in Brentwood, Calgary, Alberta.

On our journey through the Foothills last Sunday, we also stopped at Lundbreck Falls, where I captured this image of Crowsnest River.

One of our favourite places to stop at when we’re exploring the Foothills is Chain Lakes Provincial Park. Last Sunday, we were lucky enough to view these two moose grazing.
