While exploring the backroads west of Calgary, Alberta we were lucky enough to come across a flock of migrating trumpeter swans.
The highlight of week 12 was capturing several Trumpeter Swans, among a flock of migrating Canadian Geese. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get closer but enjoyed the experience nevertheless.

This week there is no one photograph that speaks to me louder than the others… they all make me smile, they all evoke memories… it was a good week.

I did it again! I let myself get behind in posting my Project 366 and now I have several weeks worth.
Week 10 saw us heading into the mountains skiing… and passing by my favourite mountain – Castle Mountain – in Banff National Park

We decided to stop at Vermilion Lakes on the way home through the mountains on Sunday. Across the lakes you can see the famous peaks of Mount Rundle. Since the day was mostly overcast, the conditions were perfect for black & white photography.
This past weekend we drove to Kicking Horse to meet some friends for a day of skiing. As we passed Castle Mountain in the early morning light, I couldn’t help but take a few photographs. The mountain continues to fascinate and inspire me.
While on a hike this weekend with my husband and son, I unexpectedly came across this log with fungi growing on it. I’m not knowledgeable about fungi in the least so if someone has more details, I’d love to hear from you.
On Monday, my son and I had a wonderful hike through one of our natural parks in Calgary.
